I’ve always loved to travel – I rarely left my home in Mexico City until I was a young adult, but then once I left university I decided to take some time off from looking for a career in computer technology and instead saved up to start traveling around the country and beyond. The more I traveled, the more I realized how much I loved seeing and experiencing new destinations and writing about them and sharing with others who are not as fortunate as I am to travel around the world.
Growing up, my grandmother instilled in me just how important it was to appreciate my Mexican heritage, and I see that there is a huge influence in my writing that shows what an impact she made – even though she’s been gone for nearly a decade.
